The following is a submission I’m making due to an incident that recently happened and why I started this blog. I realize that this blog could potentially make me out to seem unstable or “crazy”. It’s more of a way for me to vent and hopefully allow people into a private part of all this to let them see what’s behind the veil—the trials and tribulations on this road. This hasn’t been an easy trip for me and recent events make it seem like all the hard work I’m doing doesn’t even matter.
I started this blog because a former employer of mine was telling people that I was making a name for myself by stealing her designs. I worked hard to come up with the designs I’m working on now and for someone to dismantle all the hard work with a simple lie just makes it seem so pointless! I am the better designer and I will contend this to be the truth—because it is.
I guess that something like that can exhaust anybody but rather than dwell on it. I figure I’d use this site to celebrate other talents outside of Nizhoni Way Apparel. I do have an up and coming journalism gig with a local paper that I am looking forward to. I don’t know what will become of it but I approach it with as much verve as I do design.
It would be interesting to have interests outside of Nizhoni Way. There are times when I don’t feel like being a fashion designer but it’s something that chose me–not that I’m complaining. I just have other interests. I hope that this becomes an opprotunity for people to see another side to the designer of Nizhoni Way and maybe offer some advice, well-wishes, or just a “high five” and “way to go!”
